development proposal for

Southend-on-Sea Pier

The Pier has always been a leisure facility, and until the 1960's attracted large numbers of visitors.  Even today, with limited entertainment and facilities, it still attracts visitors.

Epic World Leisure presents its detailed proposal for a major themed redevelopment of the entire Pier, including new buildings on the site of the former bowling alley and Pier Head. New railway stations and new modern air-conditioned trains are planned.  If this bid is accepted by the Council, the Company will invest some £50 million in the project to make the Pier, the town and the Borough a major tourist attraction for the south-east of England.
